m³ 00 · Introducing the channel

Standards are read at a desk. Monitoring is done on the floor, with gloves on. ONE CUBIC METRE sits in between.

ONE CUBIC METRE is a series of issues on environmental monitoring in pharmaceutical cleanrooms.

Each issue takes a single concept, makes it clear and closes with a line you can use on the record or in a work instruction. It is written for the people who then have to explain that concept to the staff on the floor.

Issues are published here and on LinkedIn on the same day.

AROUND LAB NEWS is the channel and library that goes with ONE CUBIC METRE. It holds a glossary, guides, application notes, updates and in-depth pieces on contamination control and environmental monitoring. It is where the language of the standards becomes working material.

What you will find here

This issue only introduces the two channels. The following issues will cover specific topics in environmental monitoring.

  1. 1One conceptA single monitoring topic, chosen among those that raise most questions on the floor.
  2. 2Made clearEveryday words, the way you would explain it to a colleague.
  3. 3An exampleA situation you actually come across, with realistic numbers.
  4. 4One lineReady for the record or a work instruction.
  5. m³On the floorThe concept reaches operators, right where it is needed.
The path of every issue, from concept to floor.

How to read an issue

Every issue has the same parts, in the same order, so you can find what you need straight away.

  1. 1

    The starting point

When there is one, a sentence from a reference document, quoted as written and with its source. The official text is always the one that counts.

  2. 2

    What it means

The meaning in plain words, without taking technical terms for granted.

  3. 3

    An example

A real case to see how it works in practice.

  4. 4

    On the record

A short line to copy as it is into your documentation.

Who it is for

  • People who train or coordinate the staff working in cleanrooms.
  • People who write procedures, instructions and records.
  • People who have to answer, in a few words, a question that came from the floor.

What it is not

ONE CUBIC METRE does not replace reading the standards, company procedures or the advice of a qualified consultant. The content is prepared with care and checked against the sources cited, but it may contain inaccuracies: if you find one, the correction is made on the same page, stating what changed.

News, events and company content

Besides monitoring topics, an issue may present news from the sector (standards, guidelines, publications), events, courses and conferences, including those of ASCCA.

When an issue, or part of one, presents products or services of Orum International, the company where Alessandro Ligugnana works, it says so clearly: the label “From Alessandro Ligugnana’s company: Orum International” appears at the top and a transparency line at the end. The site does not publish content paid for by third parties.

How to take part
